1. Low water solubility. It has low water solubility which makes it useful in application where the product is exposed to high humidity conditions or water.
2. High phosphorus content, it contains 71% MIN phosphorus (as P₂O₅), which makes ammonium polyphosphate APP(n=1000) a very effective fire retardant.
3. Nearly neutral, it can be neutralized or brought to the alkaline side by the addition of small amounts of ammonium hydroxide.
