3.5 Zinc borate hydrate, also known as ZB-2335 flame retardant, is a derivative of zinc borate containing 3.5 molecules of crystalline water. Depending on the base polymer and fire standards, it can be used to partially replace other fire-retardant additives such as antimony oxide. In some systems, 3.5 Zinc borate hydrate displays synergism with antimony oxide. Different usage level In halogen-containing systems and halogen-free system, 3.5 Zinc borate normally used in conjunction with aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, or a silicone polymer.
Zinc borate 3.5 hydrate can be used in combination with various flame retardants. Taixing also researches formulations more suitable for different customers, so please contact us to determine the best option. The main flame retardant choices are these four types:
1. Phosphorus-based flame retardants. For example, Taixing's other product, ammonium polyphosphate, can promote the formation of a dense char layer through zinc borate, improving vertical burning rating and limiting oxygen index.
2. Hydroxide-based flame retardants, including magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide. Through synergistic effects, the amount of hydroxide added is reduced, and the stability of the char layer is improved during flame retardancy.
3. Zinc borate can also be used as a synergist for brominated flame retardants to reduce smoke and dripping.
If needed, we can also provide composite flame retardant formulations formed by various flame retardants, which can not only be more suitable for your polymers, but also make it easier to achieve low smoke, low toxicity, and high flame retardant ratings.
1. Plastic industry: compounding with other flame retardants can reduce the amount of additives by 20-30%, while retaining the impact strength and weather resistance of plastics.
2. Rubber industry: does not affect the vulcanization speed and elasticity of rubber, while improving the aging resistance of rubber.
3. Coatings industry: Improve the high temperature resistance and adhesion of coatings, and ensure that the layer does not turn yellow or crack after drying.
4. Building materials industry: as an additive added to enhance the fire resistance level of building materials.
5. Textile industry: used for flame retardant finishing of polyester and cotton blended fabrics.
6. Paper industry: added to paper coatings to enhance the high temperature resistance and flame retardancy of paper.
