Grinded aluminum hydroxide is a solid powder that must be uniformly dispersed in the polymer substrate. So, how is it added?
Pre-treatment is required before actual addition. ATH is hygroscopic. When discussing the formulation, please tell us the type of substrate you intend to add it to. We can provide you with recommended temperature and time. This is especially important for moisture-sensitive plastics. Thorough drying is essential to prevent moisture release during high-temperature processing, which could lead to bubbles or material degradation. Furthermore, to improve compatibility with the polymer, surface modification is recommended before mixing. We can also customize flame retardants with different surface modifications.
After pre-treatment, you can prepare for actual addition. During mixing, ensure the ATH is uniformly dispersed. The required addition range is 40-65%. We recommend using a side-feeder for filling, and the processing temperature should be controlled between 160-190 degrees Celsius.
